New Women's Strength & Conditioning Class

Ladies! Get up and come try our NEW all Womens Stregnth & Conditioning Class every Tuesday and Thursday morning from 6:30am-7:30am with Carly Baldwin! This class will teach the importance of functional fitness while having fun and a great way to burn fat and get in shape with other women!

Carly Baldwin is our newest trainer at Slava Boxing & Heights Fitness Gym! She comes from an extensive background in fitness, nutrition, and overall wellness. She has been athletic her whole life and is dedicated to a lifestyle of health and functional fitness.

She spent eight years serving in the US Navy where she was a Fitness Command Leader and led other fitness enhancement programs. She has been a CrossFit Level 1 Trainer since 2008 and has since accumulated several certifications within fitness industry. She has also spent almost a decade studying kinesiology and nutrition.

Carly has also worked with and trained under some of the best coaches in the world for CrossFit, Powerlifting, Olympic weightlifting, Gymnastics, and now Slava Boxing. From 2011-2013 she trained and competed in various local and regional weightlifting and CrossFit competitions.

Carly's knowledge, passion, and commitment to helping others improve their lives through fitness make her an incredible asset and we are excited to have her as part of the team!

New 6-Week Boxing Fundamentals Class

The next 6-week Boxing Fundamentals Class will begin be from 3/28/2014 to 5/9/2014. Whether your fitness goal for 2014 is to get in shape or to take your conditioning to a higher level, this class is for you! In this class you will not only be able to improve your fitness level, but also begin to learn the art of "sweet science", one of the oldest forms of Western Martial Arts.

This class will emphasise not only boxing fundamental skills, but also the training routines that boxers undergo in preparation for the fight. We will attempt to not only teach you basic skills of the "sweet science", but also sculpt your body to resemble the look of a fighter. REMEMBER - YOU DON'T HAVE TO BE A BOXER TO LOOK LIKE ONE!

New Strength and Conditioning Boot Camp

This class is for those who want to increase their level of functional fitness.

Functional fitness means that the goal of working out is preparing your body so it can perform daily activities - walking, bending, lifting, climbing stairs - without pain, injury or discomfort. It's training for life, not events.

Functional fitness workouts challenge the body to work collectively as a whole, firing up the muscles in a sequential pattern. This runs counter to the idea behind machine-based weight training, which was developed to allow bodybuilders to isolate single muscle groups.

The Boot Camp runs from 5 PM - 6 PM on every Tuesday and Thursday and 11:00 AM - 12:15 PM on every Saturday. Please refer to below class schedule for sign-up options and contact Gabes @ (832)418-3596 for more information.

General Morning Classes:

Early Bird White Collar Boxing Class:

This program emphasizes boxing techniques and physical conditioning.  In the class you will train like a boxer without having to compete (unless that is what you desire). Regardless of your current skill levels, you will find elements of the training that fit your needs. There is also complimentary workout for new students.

Get ready for an authentic boxing workout that you may never experience before . This is the REAL DEAL and it is not a cardio boxing class taught by some aerobics teacher. Prepare yourself to be put through the pace of a professional boxers workout. Experience the thrill of punching the heavy bag, shadowboxing in the ring, mastering the speed bag, and hitting the focus pads with your coach. Boxers are the most fit of all athletes and you can look and feel like one of these athletes. The boxing coaches will teach you how to burn calories and build muscle as you learn the sweet science and have fun.

General Evening Classes:

Youth Boxing Class (Ages 10-15):

Kids will learn boxing fundamentals and get in the boxing shape. If they choose to pursue boxing and begin competing in the tournaments the cost of the gym will go down to 75$ per month.

3.  Heavy bag 2-3 rounds
Heavy bag training is an all out anaerobic activity. It works like an antidote to stress. (Read More)

4.  Double-End bag 2-3 rounds
The double end bag is one of the more challenging boxing training techniques that you can work on.(Read More)

5.  Hand Pads 2-3 rounds
The Pad workout will be performed with your coach.   The coach or trainer will focus on technique and critique all aspects of your boxing skills from footwork, individual punches to combinations.(Read More)

6.  Speed Bag 2-3 rounds
The speed bag is a piece of equipment that everyone can use and benefit from using regardless of age, gender, and fitness level.(Read More)

7.  Sparring 2-3 rounds
This is optional and not a requirement of the boxing workout. Some white collar boxers regularly spar, while others prefer to only focus on the workout without actually sparring..(Read More)
